Lynda Carole Trujillo

I was born in Northern California and currently reside in Folsom.  I am the mother of two and  I live with my husband, and our dog “Oliver" and my and five darling chickens.  In 2013, as newlyweds, we found our secret garden home with a glorious river view and this creative environment was the birthplace of my art.

My professions have included,  hairstylist, make-up artist, interior design,  faux finishing,  specialty cake design and vocational nursing.  Most of my life, I remember quieting a familiar inner voice which whispered, " I want to paint and become an artist . . . maybe someday ?"  That someday came aboard my honeymoon cruise in 2014.  During  a watercolor workshop I became intrigued as the beautiful color dripped from the tip of my brush.  Time slowed and my heart beat faster.  In that moment my "someday" had arrived, and my life as an artist began.

Some children know what they would like to "be" when they grow up.  I remember wanting to be "Jeannie" from the television show " I Dream of Jeannie!"  Although this makes me laugh,  for me the urge to be unique and magical,  was quite real. Truthfully nothing feels more magical than delicious color flinging from my wand (okay, my paintbrush...just amuse me!)  and Viola', something from nothing!

I paint in watercolor, acrylic, and oil.  I enjoy the freedom of abstraction and the details of realism.   My commissioned works include Pet Portraits, Children's Portraits and Abstracts.  My art has been described as "dreamy, gentle, using luminous color."  I've been described as having " attention to detail' and "the ability to capture the essence of a subject."  Painting is my meditation,  this tranquil space is where I onnect spiritually.

I love laughter, kindness, originality, my children's smiles, and my parents unconditional love.  Things that make me happy are, faces of both humans and animals,  music while gardening, the writings of A.A.Milne in Winnie the Pooh, my sisters laugh, red wine with dark chocolate, my husbands hugs, chartreuse,  "Breakfast at Tiffany's,"  the taste of ginger, the smell of babies and the scent of tuber-rose.

I peer at life through rose colored glasses with my cup half full.   Welcome to my world, my heART, and I hope you find a little magic here. . .
